What types of music storage can I use with my Uniti Core?

There are three different storage options for your Uniti Core. Internal Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD). NAS External Storage — Network Attached Storage. Can be used as a store or a back-up device. USB External Storage — Can be used as a store or a back-up device. The Uniti Core supports single USB external hard drives, either BUS or mains powered from the front & rear USB sockets. The Uniti Core does not support the use of USB hubs to connect multiple USB devices.

Genre handling of Metadata

The Uniti Core uses Rovi genres. If a genre has been imported with legacy data this can be selected by choosing the Legacy tab. For any tab the user can add a new genre or delete the genre applied to that album. To find this feature scroll to the bottom of the Edit Metadata screen. For more information, see the ”Manually Editing the Metadata” topic. Touch the Naim app. Touch Uniti Core. To edit the metadata source for a particular album, navigate to the desired album. Touch the … icon. Touch Edit Metadata. If “Lookup metadata” fails to find metadata for you album or you would like to manually add a genre. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and touch Add genre. Enter the Genre you would like to use for the album. As you begin typing, the app will generate Genre?s based on your input. Touch the Genre you wish to use. To remove a genre from a particular album, navigate to the Edit metadata screen, scroll to the bottom of the screen and touch the X icon. To remove any data edited by a user, touch Clear user edits.

How do I change the Album Artwork?

Touch the Naim app. Touch Uniti Core. To edit the metadata source for a particular album, navigate to the desired album. Touch the … icon. Touch Edit metadata. Touch Change Cover. Touch the desired option. E.g Touch Google image search. Touch OK. Touch and hold the desired image. Touch Copy. Touch Done. Touch Save.

How do I force a lookup of Metadata?

Navigate to the album/ track that you wish to edit. Touch the … icon and Edit Metadata. Then click Lookup metadata. The Uniti Core uses Rovi genres. I am about to move to a country which supplies 115V instead of 230V, do I need to swap my ND555?

The ND555 has no direct main power supply. The 555PS power supply will need to be modified by a local dealer or distributor to work on 115V.

I have just bought my ND555, but the remote doesn’t work

Make sure you install the batteries provided in the correct positions as illustrated inside the rear cavity of the remote. You will also need to the pair the remote to the ND555.

Is there a headphone output on ND555?

No, there is no 3.5mm headphone port on the ND555.

Restoring ND555 to Factory Settings

When turning on the ND555?s power supply, hold down the Play and Input selection buttons of the ND555, until the front panel display of the ND555 turns on, then release. Warning: This will reset the music database and will delete all favourites and playlists. However it will not delete the music on your music stores.

What hi-res file formats and sample rates does ND555 support?

USB attached devices — what is supported

BUS Powered USB storage devices — This is a USB device powered by the connection to the ND555. Self Powered USB storage devices — A USB storage device powered by connection to the mains power.

No album artwork is showing on the screen.

The music being played may have no artwork associated with it. You can try to find album artwork using the Lookup metadata tool in the Edit Metadata menu. Navigate to the specific track or album. Touch the … icon next to the album. Touch Edit metadata. Touch Lookup metadata. The Naim app will perform a metadata search for Album and Track titles and Album artwork.
